What You’ll Do
✅ Core Sample Handling & Preparation
Receive, prepare, preserve, store, and maintain traceability of core samples in accordance with laboratory requirements.
✅ Routine Core Analysis
Perform routine core analysis and testing in compliance with laboratory procedures, ASTM, API, and client specifications.
✅ Special Core Analysis Support
Assist in conducting special core analysis and advanced reservoir testing under technical supervision.
✅ Equipment Operation & Maintenance
Operate, calibrate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance.
✅ Data Recording & Quality Control
Record, verify, calculate, and maintain test data while ensuring QA/QC compliance and sample traceability.
✅ Technical Reporting
Prepare laboratory records, test summaries, and preliminary reports with accurate and confidential documentation.
✅ Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Comply with HSE requirements, laboratory safety procedures, and safe handling of chemicals, equipment, and waste.
✅ Laboratory Operations & Housekeeping
Maintain laboratory cleanliness, equipment readiness, inventory, and consumables to support daily operations.
✅ Client & Project Support
Support project execution, client requirements, technical enquiries, audits, and timely communication of issues.
✅ Continuous Improvement
Contribute to method improvements, SOP development, operational efficiency, and continuous technical development.
We’re Looking For
✅ Diploma or Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geology, Geoscience, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Applied Science, Laboratory Technology, or a related discipline.
✅ Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply!
✅ Relevant technical certificate may be considered for candidates with appropriate laboratory experience.
✅ Previous experience in core analysis, petroleum laboratories, geotechnical testing, or scientific laboratories is an advantage.
✅ Able to work independently and under minimum supervision.
✅ Willing to travel for site assignments when required.

About the Role
We are looking for a passionate an experienced and technically capable Automation Engineer to join our engineering and technology team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing automation software, control systems, and graphical user interfaces for laboratory and industrial equipment. The candidate must have strong hands-on experience with LabVIEW, National Instruments hardware, PLC programming, equipment control systems, and software development.
This position is suitable for an engineer who is capable of managing the complete development cycle, from understanding equipment requirements and preparing the control architecture to programming, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and system documentation.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Develop automation and control software for laboratory and industrial equipment.
✅ Design user-friendly Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) for equipment monitoring, operation, and data acquisition.
✅ Develop applications using National Instruments LabVIEW.
✅ Configure and integrate National Instruments hardware, including DAQ modules, controllers, sensors, and communication devices.
✅ Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs and Human-Machine Interface systems.
✅ Integrate sensors, transmitters, actuators, pumps, motors, valves, heaters, pressure controllers, and other instrumentation into equipment control systems.
✅ Develop real-time monitoring, data logging, alarm, interlock, and safety-control functions.
✅ Establish communication between equipment and devices using protocols such as Modbus, RS-232, RS-485, TCP/IP, OPC, or other industrial communication protocols.
✅ Prepare control system architecture, process flow diagrams, wiring requirements, I/O lists, and software logic.
✅ Conduct system testing, debugging, Factory Acceptance Tests, Site Acceptance Tests, installation, and commissioning.
✅ Troubleshoot software, instrumentation, electrical, and control-system issues.
✅ Improve and upgrade existing equipment automation systems.
✅ Work closely with mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, software, and project teams.
✅ Prepare technical documentation, software manuals, operating procedures, source-code records, and project reports.
✅ Provide technical support and training to internal teams and clients.
✅ Ensure all systems comply with relevant quality, safety, and project requirements.
Requirements
✅ Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Automation Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
✅ Minimum 3–5 years of relevant working experience in automation, control systems, equipment development, or instrumentation.
✅ Strong practical experience in LabVIEW software development.
✅ Strong knowledge of National Instruments hardware and data-acquisition systems.
✅ Experience in PLC programming and troubleshooting.
✅ Experience developing equipment-control software and GUI applications.
✅ Able to integrate hardware, sensors, instrumentation, controllers, and software into a complete automated system.
✅ Good understanding of control logic, interlocking, alarms, process monitoring, and data acquisition.
✅ Familiarity with electrical drawings, control panels, instrumentation diagrams, and equipment wiring.
✅ Able to troubleshoot technical problems independently.
✅ Good analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
✅ Able to manage multiple projects and meet project deadlines.
✅ Willing to travel to client sites for installation, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning when required.
